Hello, I'm Arthur Sterling, Your Guide to Growing Beautiful Jasmine

Welcome to the Jasminum sambac Portal

I am Arthur Sterling, a lifelong horticulturist, botanist, and the founder of this platform. For over 30 years, my hands have been deep in the soil, and my life has been intertwined with the intoxicating fragrance and profound elegance of Arabian jasmine.

My Journey

My journey with Jasminum sambac began decades ago when I established Sterling Botanical Nurseries, a commercial growing operation dedicated exclusively to rare and exquisite Oleaceae species.

Over the years, I have successfully propagated and cultivated hundreds of thousands of jasmine plants, specializing in demanding and highly sought-after cultivars such as the multi-petaled "Grand Duke of Tuscany", the elongated "Belle of India", and the classic "Maid of Orleans".

I didn't just grow flowers; I studied their micro-climates, refined their soil compositions, and perfected natural pest management techniques.

Recognition

This relentless pursuit of botanical excellence did not go unnoticed. I am deeply humbled to have received the Gold Medal for Horticultural Excellence from the American Botanical Society, and to have had my cultivation protocols adopted by commercial growers and fragrance extractors across the globe.

My Philosophy

My work has always been driven by a simple philosophy: to bridge the gap between rigorous botanical science and the practical art of gardening.

This Portal

Recently, I made the decision to retire from the demanding daily operations of commercial cultivation. However, stepping away from the greenhouse didn't mean stepping away from my passion.

I quickly realized that while the internet is flooded with generic gardening advice, there is a severe lack of a definitive, expert-led resource specifically dedicated to Jasminum sambac.

That realization gave birth to this portal.

Here, I am pouring three decades of hard-earned experience, trial, and error into a comprehensive digital archive. Whether you are a commercial grower looking for the latest industry news, a botanical student researching genetic profiles, or a home gardener trying to coax your first 'Grand Duke' into bloom, this website is built for you.

Arthur Sterling
